Can Tylenol Be Taken During Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Tue, 25 Aug 2015
Question: Is it safe to take Tylenol during pregnancy? I just realized that I may be pregnant, and I had heard about recent studies linking Tylenol to ADHD, but I have a terrible headache and can't sleep. If it's ok, what's the best dosage?

I have a raging headache.

Dont take Tylenol

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about taking Tylenol.

I suggest you don't take Tylenol as you have rightly said. Instead take a paracetamol and sleep.

Let me know if you need any more clarification.

Isn't Paracetamol the same as Acetaminophen, just like Tylenol? I only have Tylenol in the house and it's 4 a.m. here.

Brief Answer:
You can take one dose now

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You are right. Tylenol is the same drug.

ADHD does not happen with one or 2 doses. It happens if many doses are taken.

One tablet of tylenol won't hurt the baby.

Take the tablet and sleep.

Is 600 mg (2 regular dose) of Tylenol okay?

It's regular strength so it would be 600 mg total
