yes, Escitalopram 5 mg is safe as anti anxiety medicine. Similarly other medicines for anxiety like paroxetine, venlaflexine, desvenlaflexine are also good. These are SSRI ( selective serotonin re uptake inhibitor ) anti depressant which is very useful as anti anxiety medicine.
With in 10 to 15 days you will get the full effect of it.
Continue it for at least 3 month and gradually taper it.

can moderate alcohal like beer ( 1 or 2 ) or wine ( 1 - 2 glasses ) or whiskey ( 60-90 ml )consumption is ok with harmful side effects with this stalopam 5mg medicine , once or twice a week

you need to quit alcohol completely for better result of medicine in anxiety.
If your anxiety is due to alcohol intake it might be possible that on discontinuation of alcohol you might have no anxiety.
Also with alcohol intake the effect of medicine is declined and some side effects like sedation, worsening of anxiety etc.. may occur and so stop it.
