Question: hi, its been only a day i got a massage and a hand job from this guy, i gave him a couple of minute suck too with no ejaculation. i am afraid i might have his pre-cum though. in only a day with the regret i feel so depressed that i might have got an std and so afraid to open up my partner because i don't wanna spread if i got it. other than him touching massaging and me sucking his penis for 2 minute, there was nothing else. i feel so anxious, can you doctors help me understand which stds i have risk to take. from most possible to least hiv herpes? am afraid the guy was active so thinking he is in high risk category. Also when should i get tested? i feel deep regret idid this. I appreciate if you share any thoughts.

Brief Answer:
Performing unprotected oral sex is not safe

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and i have understood your concern.

Massaging, hanjob and touching are absolutely safe sexual activities in terms of risk of sti's.

As far as performing unprotected oral sex is concerned there is a small yet definite risk of transmisson of almost all STI's like herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and even Hiv. The risk would increase further if oral sex also involves ejaculation into the mouth.

I suggest you to get specifically tested for herpes, syphilis and hiv at 4 weeks from this sexual encounter and then again at 12 weeks for a conclusive result.

Brief Answer:
Oral sex is low risk for STDs

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I understand your concern and anxiety regarding this exposure. I must tell you that out of all forms of sexual contacts Oral sex has the lowest risk of an STD.

However, i do agree with the fact that there is a low yet definite possibility of STD from performing unprotected oral sex.

Ideally, you should not get sexually involved with your permanent partner till you are finally declared clean by laboratory tests i.e at 3 months from this particular sexual act.

In the mean time if you develp any sores or bumps in or around your mouth you must get yourselves examined by a venereologist.
