Brief Answer:
need clarifications....

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,

Before answering to this question, I want to know exactly what medicine are you taking for sleeping and its dose ? Similarly I would also like to know what dose of melatonin you intend to take.

Both these medicines causes drowsiness and sleep; so I am afraid if the dose is more then it will have synergistic action and leading excessive day time sleepiness. Besides these there is no other significant profound interaction that are reported with melatonin and sleeping pills.

So requested not to take together till the time I get feed back answers from you.

Hope you understand the situation, and will try to update me.

Waiting for the response from your side,

Wishing you a good health and good luck,

Regards,

Thanks.

Teva-Trazodone 50mg

I also take over the counter Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride 50mg.

Brief Answer:
No its not good idea.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,

Welcome back,

As you have mentioned above medicines they all cause sedation, drowsiness, constipation, etc

Melatonin also causes sedation, so I am worried if you combine all the medicine mentioned above with Melatonin it will further make you drowsy, may be you start sleeping in day time or at work also.

So it is not a good idea to take all the above medicines together.

But still you insist to take please visit once to your local doctor for a general check up and associated sleep disorder.

Please be cautious if you are taking sleeping (sedative) medicines because person on sedative medicine are not allowed to work with machinery or drive vehicle or work on height.

Hope you understand the situation.

Waiting for the response from your side, please do not hesitate to write back if further any query.

Wishing you a good health and good luck,

Regards,

Thanks.

Thanks Dr. Priyanka! I want to make it clear that I do not take all of the above together all in one night. I will only take one of the above once in a given night. I do not combine them. So as per my original question is to take the Melatonin 10mg with just ONE of the above? sorry just wanted to make that clear.
I am a Vice President for a firm and work in an office so I need sleep in order to function and make important decisions. That is why sleep is so important to me.
thanks!!!!

Brief Answer:
Yes Melatonin alone can be taken.

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir ,

Welcome back again,

As per your question that just ONE you want to take, so the answer is YES you can take.

But besides that do visit your local doctor for not getting proper sleep and use of above mentioned medicines. It is must to rule out the exact cause of disturbed sleep.

As how long will you take the medicines, the cause of not getting sleep has to be found out.

Hope you understand the gravity of situation,

Wishing you a good health and good luck,

Regards,

Thanks.
