default
Posted on Mon, 23 Jun 2014
Question: Can levaquin delay your period after being taken for pneumonia. I ruled out pregancy because I had a tubal ligation and plus, I haven't been intimate with my husband or anyone else since I been sick. My period is 3 weeks late.

Brief Answer:
Not due to Levaquin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The delay in the period is likely to be due to the weakness caused by your illness rather than the antibiotic. Since the pregnancy is ruled out there is no need to worry. You can wait for 2 weeks more for your period to start spontaneously.
In case the period still does not come you can consult your gynecologist for hormonal pills to have a withdrawal bleeding.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
