Posted on Tue, 27 Sep 2016
Question: Hi Doctor,

I had body to body massage with underwear on and received unprotected hand job from a masseuse on 23rd August 2016.For two days from 3rd September to 4th September I was not well,I was having burps after drinking water, excessive gas troubles and I was not able to eat to my fullest, burning eyes etc.Now I am perfectly ok but still burps and gas issue is slightly there.I had spicy local chat items(vadapav, jalebis, samosa chat) on August 30,31,September 1 and 2..What's the possibility of me contracting HIV from body to body massage and hand job?what is the possibility that these symptoms are ARS symptoms?Should I go for HIV testing?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Body to body massage with underwear on and hand job have no risk for HIV infection.
Your symptoms are unlikely to be due to HIV. It is due to dyspepsia. Not to worry. You need no HIV test.

Brief Answer:
Your HIV risk is almost nil.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Body to body massage without underwear poses a negligible risk for HIV infection as per CDC, XXXXXXX United States of XXXXXXX ARS syndrome in HIV is a older term, not in use nowadays.
Earliest manifestations of HIV can occur only after 3-4 weeks after the exposure, in the presence of an infection. That too, fever and body pain are the common presentation in acute HIV infection (occur with 50-70%, not with all).
You had no risk for HIV. So nothing to worry.
