Can HIV Be Contracted Through A Scratch On The Testicles?

default
Posted on Tue, 21 Jun 2016
Question: Doctor

I recently had a body massage and the messeuse ended it with a unprotected handjob. She used massage oil and had no visible wounds/cuts/blood on her hands. She had long nails and she scratched my testicle(no bleeding) she used a lot of oil.

Am really anxious so please reconfirm.

1. Am I at risk for Hiv?
2. Do i need to get tested?
3. Does the scratch increase the risk of hiv?

Highly appreciate your advice.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
There is no risk of HIV. No need to get tested. Relax.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the possibility of HIV after the incidence.

I can understand from your query that it was only hand job done by the masseuse. With best my clinical and academic experience let me reassure you first that overall there are no chances of HIV infection after such kind of incidence.

It is because of the fact that HIV spreads by mixing of blood or serum or genital fluid of infected to non infected person. A hand job is as similar as simple touch of one person to another. HIV infection never spreads by touching or sharing of food or any such similar act.

In case of cuts also there should be active oozing of blood fluids and then similar oozing cut in another person. There is no such scenario in your case. So relax for any possibility of HIV infection. There is no need to go for any testing in your case.

I hope you must be relaxed to know the simple facts.

With good health wishes,
