Can Eliquis Cause Blood In Stool?

default
Posted on Fri, 21 Oct 2016
Question: After being prescribed medicine called Eliquis as I had lost a lot of blood through my bowels, I have awakened several mornings with black around everything. I have had migraines in the past but because I take Sotalol for A Fib, but only get the aura. Is this problem as a result of that?

The first morning I awoke with the blackness encircling everything I had to wear sunglasses as I helped my husband dress as he had a stroke 1-1/2 years ago. The problem eventually goes away. My cardiologist and the rep from the company which came up with Eliquis said there is no effect such as I've described related to that drug. What about vascular migraine?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

What you are experiencing may be related to brain hemorrhagic lesions (hemorrhagic stroke) which is a common side effects of Eliquis use.

This is why I strongly recommend that you should contact a neurologist and do a head ct scan to exclude such complications.

If everything is ok than your symptoms are related to vascular migraine.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
