Basically, My Anus Is Wet A Lot And I'm Becoming

default
Posted on Thu, 28 Mar 2019
Question: Basically, my anus is wet a lot and I'm becoming fed up with it. Seems to be worse when I pass wind, it will be usually watery brown. However sometimes can be clear. It is definitely coming from further up my rectum as I will feel more wettness when I insert my finger deeper. After a bowel movement I will have to return to clean myself after 30 mins no matter how much I clean the first time. Do have a lot of gas sometimes and my abdomen makes watery noises a lot when my stomach is empty or full. I am 33 and this only started less than 2 years ago, how do I fix this as I do not want a wet anus. Also this is not hemorrhoids. I had a private stool test done and seems I have trouble digesting veg and seem to be low on lactobacillus.

Brief Answer:
Please get a colonoscopy done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for asking query on Health care magic.
I have read your details and have seen your stool test results,
As per your query I would like to explain to you that most of the absorption of water from feces takes part in distal most part of our large intestine.Intestine is divided into small and large intestines. While small intestine digests food distal part of large intestine called colon absorbs water from the digested food.A very common problem often encountered in this part of intestine is Inflammation covered under term inflammatory bowel disease. Now practically when cells and tissues are inflammed in a particular area of intestine particularly colon it fails to absorb water properly hence stools are having more water, wind is moist and your anal canal remains wet as the unabsorbed water seeps off slowly slowly under the effect of gravity.
I would recommend you to go for a test called colonoscopy.A tube with high definition camera would be inserted into anus till colon and inflammatory bowel condition would be ruled out.
As of now you can take imodium 2mg capsule once or twice a day or as and when required to keep your stools tight. If you live in a country except US you could get Racicadotryl tablets and can take them 100 mg once or as and when required. They too prevent secretion of mucous(water) from cells of intestines. Its not available in US.But if you can manage it's a better option then I'm done for temporary relief.
If you can't get both then take Isabghul husk 10 mg thrice daily in dry form with just sips of water. Its a natural husk which imbibes water and swells up and add to bulk of stools and make it look Fuller and bulky.
Take a probiotic regularly Sacchromyces is a good one(Econorm) twice daily.
Get a colonoscopy done and follow up.

Good morning,

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I had a sigmoidoscopy completed last November'2018. They only spotted some diverticulitis, however I was awake and watching and observed lot of water in my large colon despite fasting for 24 hours.

I will try as you suggest, although my stools are formed when passing and i do not have a difficult time. Is there a posibility of me also being constipated without my knowledge. I did read somewhere that the colon will release a lot of water to help pass my stools. What are the chances it could be constipation?

Thanks again.

Brief Answer:
Patency of anal sphincter needs to be evaluated.
Defecography should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Sir it could be a case of incontinence. As sigmoidoscopy has already been done chances of it being any syndrome are ruled out.
1)Have your MD ever examined you digitally.Your doctor inserts a gloved and lubricated finger into your rectum to evaluate the strength of your sphincter muscles and to check for any abnormalities in the rectal area.

Some tests that should be done are-
Anal manometry. A narrow, flexible tube is inserted into the anus and rectum. A small balloon at the tip of the tube may be expanded. This test helps measure the tightness of your anal sphincter and the sensitivity and functioning of your rectum.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). An MRI can provide clear pictures of the sphincter to determine if the muscles are intact and can also provide images during defecation (defecography). Best would be to go for Defecography.

B) Is there a posibility of me also being constipated without my knowledge. I did read somewhere that the colon will release a lot of water to help pass my stools. What are the chances it could be constipation? -For me practically its a rare of rarest case scenario may be 0.01% or even less chances.Because if you are constipated to that extent that colon is secreting so much amount of water there would be severe inflammation in colon also there would be millions of colonies of toxic bacteria's you would get severe spasmodic pain and sooner or later would end up in stool Impaction.

Hope i was clear and easy to understand,

Hello, yes I have had the digital check. No abnormalities only told it is wet. I also thought incontinence but as I never leak stool. Only watery fluid leaks out and wets around the anus. I will look at the tests but not sure as I know I can tense my sphincter mucles very hard with my finger inserted. To me my intestines are releasing too much water and I do not know why.

This excess water is not being absorbed causing it to leak.

Thanks again for your response.

Brief Answer:
Racecadotril received a UK marketing authorisation in September 2011 and was launched in the UK in October 2012.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Ok just do one thing take Tab Raciadotryl 100mg(Available in U.K and European countries but is a prescription medicine) thrice daily for 7 days.Racecadotril reduces hypersecretion of water and electrolytes into the intestinal lumen.
This would help in clearing things if you are relieved this means that problem is related to water absorbtion other wise test for other causes would be done.
In case you can't manage Racicadotryl then take imodium 4mg twice daily but this would constipate you too.

Can get back to me directly in case this thread closes itself at
