Are Fertility Shots Required When The Partner Has Low Sperm Count?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 May 2016
Question: What is the reason to be on fertility injectable drugs if I have checked out fine but my husband has a low sperm count and "low sperm shape head". Wouldn't an insemination be enough? What's the reason my doctor wants me on injectables if I have checked out fine? I am 40 years old. Is that the only reason?

Brief Answer:
Injections increase eggs in due course..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about injections.

These are Gonadotropin injections which are used to get more number of eggs to ovulate. This will increase chance of pregnancy.

Without injections you might release one egg. With injections you will release more than one egg.

I hope your doubt is cleared.

Let me know if you need anymore help.
