Question: Hi, I'm a 33 year old female with hypothyroidism. I am currently drinking a protein shake a day from Herbalife. Brief Answer:
There are some pathologies that are worsen by soy product.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking on HCM!

There are many scientific debates regarding to soya effect on thyroid function.

Anyway, soy is known as a goitrogen -- a food that promotes an enlarged thyroid known as a goiter -- and consuming large quantities of soy can have an antithyroid effect, slow thyroid function, and in some patients, trigger hypohyroidism.

This is most likely to occur in that segment of the population that is iodine deficient.

So, if you are diagnosed with hypothyroidism due to iodine deficiency i wwoul recommend to stopp herbalife.
If your diagnosis is Hashimoto thyroiditis than you may continue using herbalife but it interferes with levothyroxine and should be taken at least in 4 hours difference.
It will be a pleasure to help you further if you have other queries.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
