A Month And A Half Ago After Quiting Vaping And

Question: A month and a half ago after quiting vaping and starting to exercise i began feeling out of it. Generally foggy, dizzy, blurred vision, never feeling rested, mild numbness in ring and pinky fingers, lack of concentration, very emotional and anxiety attacks. I also deal with tinnitus which seemed to get bit louder and felt like it was resonating through my body. Ive been dealing with stress and anxiety for the past two years.

I had also been on Losartan for the past year and a half. It had always made me a little dizzy. taking my blood pressure at home i noticed my BP to be consistently 106-116 / 62-68.

I visited my doctor to bring him up to speed. I was advised to start tapering off the Losartan by taking it every other day for a week. It was also brought to my attention that some of what i was dealing with was due to stopping testosterone therapy.

The following day i skipped the losartan and did feel a bit better. The day after I took the losartan again and felt worse. I called the doctor and was advised to stop use all together. This is where the anxiety really kicked in. my anxiety went to an all time high. I felt like I was having anxiety attack 24 hours a day for the next 2 to 3 weeks.
My blood pressure now reads in normal ranges and my anxiety has subsided.

most of what i described in the begining of this has calmed down. I am left with a few sympoyoms that are concerning (listed below)
After coming off of the losartan I started eating a plant-based diet which caused loose stool for two weeks accompanied by stomach cramping. this diet was continued for a month and a half. I also started using an over the counter fiber colon cleanse product. three days into using this colon cleanse I began having stomach cramping in my lower abdomen about at the top of my pelvis. This is been accompanied by but I can only describe as flaky stool.

-Dizzy
-Tingling in fingers
-pressure in temples
-ears constantly popping
-occasional tingling/crawling sensation on scalp
-ringing in ears
-stomach cramping/bowel movement issues
-inability to loose weight

Brief Answer:
combined effect of drug side effect with anxiety manifestations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, the BP alteration were related to drug effect
via receptor level action and so subsided by stopping the Losartan.

* Rest of the symptoms of tingling fingers, temple pressure, ear popping,
crowling scalp and ringing ears can be part of underlying stress and
anxiety with add on by some vitamin deficiencies.

I would like to know if any recent lab work done for some evaluation if any.
Thanks.
Regards.

Thank you for your response. Yes sir. I had labs done on two different occasions recently. One before starting testosterone therapy and one three weeks after. And the first my testosterone level was 152 and my estrogen was also lower than normal. Also showed a deficiency of vitamin D three. After second blood draw I was told everything is back to normal. I’m not sure of the depth of which they looked into my labs. The doctor instructed me to start taking vitamin D3, DIM SGS Plus, and Magnesium-L-Threonate. Soo you have any particular deficiencies you would suspect given the symptoms?

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome for the follow up.
Thanks for the additional details.

* The assembly of current symptoms as said previously narrate trace
elements deficiency , hormone levels and associated stress and anxiety.

* The doc has prescribed vitamin D 3 , magnesium and DIM SGS plus are
quite useful for the symptoms.

* There does not sound any particular additional deficiency, but the body
adaptation to the receptor changes caused by the testosterone therapy do
manifest for particular period of times.

* Constipation and altered bowel habits do relate to fiber deficiency mostly.

As there is mentioned that everything is normal to level in second blood draw, what current medications you are on apart from mentioned vit D 3 and others ?

Thanks.

Thank you. The only prescription I am taking at this point is the Testosterone. I was taking a fiber based colon cleanse but stopped two days ago due to cramping in my lower abdomen. The cramping is a bit better today. I am currently introducing some meat and dairy products back into my diet to attempt to regain abdominal/ Bowel comfort.

Do you have an idea or timeframe that it normally takes for the receptor adaptation you had mentioned previously to take place?

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the details.

* The testosterone consumption alters hypothalamus pathway via feed back
inhibition of certain hormone release.

* Can resume meat and dairy products in diet for bowel comfort, but be
careful to avoid excess oil, spices which may upset stomach as well.

* The time frame for receptor accomodation differs from individual to
individual but around 3-4 weeks is average prediction.

* Also drink plenty of liquids with high fiber intake in diet as green leafy veg,
cereals, pulses and legumes.
* Addition of multi vitamin with multi mineral helps best with immune
system support.

Wish you best recovery.
Take care.
