If the diagnosis is confirmed apply calamine lotion lotion locally & you can take over-the-counter antihistamine, such as chlorpheniramine maleate to relieve itching.
I have been diagnoised with Pityriasisrosea. However, its getting worse. Its been 3 weeks and the itchyness is terrible.
Welcome to HCM,
Cause of pityriasisrosea is not certain, but its clinical presentation suggest a viral infection as a cause for it.
It begins with a single lesion, followed in 1 or 2 weeks by a generalized body rash lasting up to 12 weeks. But with treatment the symptoms may last few weeks.
Oral antihistamines and topical steroids can be used to decrease itching.
