Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 50, have been doing a lot of running recently and have noticed that there is a bone protruding on the outside of my left just lower than the knee. It is not painful and I am assuming it is the head of the fibula. Can you advise what would cause this to start to protrude and should I be seeing a doctor or just rest as I have Ben doing for a few weeks now?
Hi If no symptoms, nothing needs to be done. However if you get x ray done, any exostosis,or spicule bone formation if any would reveal if present. Exostosis are removed if pressure symptoms arise Thanks
