What Is The Ideal Weight Post Hysterectomy Surgery?
a 33 years old women who are post hysterectomy surgery done 5 years back, uterus and overy (one) removed, now her weight is decreasing, when we check the blood TSH is 6.8 and T4 is 98 / ml.
Could you please give any remedy to recover the ideal weight and healthy life.
Good Morning! I see many of my patients losing weight after hysterectectomy. One client lost 25 pounds! TSH is too high and most doctors rarely use T4 and T3 anymore as it has shown to be unreliable indicators of active hormone. You can assure proper thyroid functioning by giving it the iodine it needs. Talk to your doctor about the recommended levels of TSH and ask why yours are so high. Levels this high typically accompany depression in case this may be a problem. To recover ideal weight and health: 1) Use iodized salt sparingly; 2) eat two to four vegetables/day; 3) add olives, olive oil, nut butter to diet; 4) add 6 oz. healthy shake in am with almond or lactaid milk, add 1 scoop whey protein, froz. fruit,1 container greek yogurt and a little honey to add nutrients, kcals, protein, fruit 5) engage in some form of activity totalling 150 minutes per week 5) avoid soy; 6)follow-up with doctor about TSH 7) Ask about hormones and a bone density test due to having your ovary/uterus removed and the weight loss - check for osteoporosis and if present, treat. Thank you for coming to HCM
