Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

The general treatment guidelines for Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (Bone TB) is with standard 4 drug Anti-TB regime for a period of 6-9 months depending on the severity of disease and the clinical response.

Tuberculosis is a curable disease, so there is nothing to panic about it.

For the bone defect, a proper soft tissue coverage by way of either muscle pedicle graft or a fasciocutaneous flap is needed for faster healing of the defect/wound.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
