What Is The Cure For Numb Feeling In Upper Left Leg For Weeks?

I have been having this numbness/little painful feeling on my upper left leg for over two weeks now. It hurts when I cough and sneeze. I started walking on 2/15/14 and I thought that was the reason for the pain, but it isn't. I have lupus, RA, and other illnesses. Please help me. Thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

The symptoms that you are having are likely to be due to a pinched nerve at the level of lumber spine. The other possible cause is vitamin B 12 deficiency.
An MR of lower back will help in diagnosing the exact problem. Right now you can start taking methylcobalamin supplements. Doing back exercises under the guidance of a physiotherapist will also be helpful.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
