What Causes Pain And Red Bruise In The Eyes After Dry Eye Test?

I had a dry eye test today (Schirmer test). I have Ehler's Danlos's Type 3 (Connective Tissue Disorder). When they took the strips out of my eyes it was very painful...like ripping off eye surface. Now have super dry eye and really red bruised areas where the strips were. Could my eye surface be damaged?

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having pain and red bruise in the eye following schirmer's test. These symptoms indicate a probably epithelial defect of the eyes but with the Schirmer's test the damage to the epithelium of the cornea is very unlikely, but still I would like to treat this as corneal epithelial defect and requires treatment by the use of antibiotic eye drops and artificial tears eye drops.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
