What Causes Abdominal Pain With Thick Bleeding During A Pregnancy?

My wife is ten weeks pregnant (counting including today.) This is confirmed by a commercial pregnancy test as well as the doctor (a Perinatologist/Ultrasonologist) we consulted a week ago. With her own ultrasound machine in her clinic, she observed and noted on her report Within the endometrical cavity is a decidualized gestational sac with no embryo seen. Scattered area of subchronic bleeding noted. No uterine contraction seen. Normal both ovaries. Since yesterday, my wife had been feeling pain in her abdominal area, accompanied with bleeding. Blood is thick and dark red in color. Our doctor is out of reach for now. Should we be worried? What can we do with the pain until we see our doctor?

Hello dear,I understand your concern.I am sorry for your condition.
In my opinion usually by 10 weeks of pregnancy the gestational sac with fetal pole and cardiac activity should be seen.As the sac is empty and there is bleeding the features might go in favour of miscarriage. But anyways you need to confirm the pregnancy status by ultrasound as it gives accurate diagnosis. So the consultation with doctor might be needed .
