Suggest Treatment For MRSA Noticed After Skin Graft

Hi, my son had a skin graft 2 weeks ago now has MRSA does he need to worry? He is also due to have surgery on a fractured ankle, doctors yesterday said to wait 5 days to treat MRSA, today they said he can have surgery tomorrow. Is it safe to have surgery if you have MRSA (nose and groin swabs positive)

Hi friend,

It is considered safe to perform surgery in patient with MRSA that is stable. Surgeon will evaluate the site of infection, severity of infection, and treatment option prior to perform any surgery.
