Suggest Remedy For Problem In Swallowing

I m a 22 year old male and I ve been struggling with this problem for 6-7 years. When eating I constantly have to struggle to swallow food. If I swallow too much at once, the food will get stuck. When food gets stuck I can sometimes force it down the rest of the way, but occasionally I just have to throw it up. I ve had numerous tests done, including a barium swallow and a scope up my nose and down my throat, so the Dr. could watch as I swallowed. All tests came back completely normal. The last thing the Dr. did was refer me to a swallowing therapist (for lack of a better term), because he thinks it s something mental.I ve had no luck with any Dr.s and I m sick of having to struggle every time I eat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

A brain MRI is necessary to investigate for a possible brain disorder. If the brain MRI is normal, I would recommend consulting with a psychiatrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
