Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
From your query i understood that you have Thyroid nodule in right lobe of thyroid.

First do Ultrasound thyroid to rule out whether it is single nodule or multiple nodular goiter.

Then check your thyroid profile. Confirm whether you are euthyroid ( normal level of thyroid hormones) or increased or decreased thyroid hormones.

FNAC ( Fine needle aspiration cytology) can be done to rule out cancer of thyroid.

Treatment vary depends upon the finding in investigation and hormone levels.

If it is found to be multinodular goitre, you may need right lobectomy provided you are euthyroid.

Cancer needs total thyroidectomy with removal of adjacent lymph nodes.

Do not get worried.
Do all these investigations and consult an endocrinologist for ferther management.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Dr.Manjeth

Psychiatrist Dr. Srikanth Reddy's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail.
The small mass surely needs to be removed, cause only after removal the mass will be sent for histo-pathology and we can identify what is actually wrong with it. The thyroid surgery that you are planning to undertake is a mild procedure and will not lead to a big scar ion any way. All patients do not gain weight. They may first assess how your thyroid profile works and if necessary add up thyroid supplements. One thing you need to understand is that there is no other solution for this than to undergo a surgery.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

You have small mass on your thyroid.
Thyroid mass may be benign or malignant, before surgery some test are necessary such as
1. USG of NECK with doppler
2. FNAC of Thyroid Swelling
3. T3,T4 and TSH
After these test , decision of surgery may be possible.

Thanks
