Severe Stomach Cramping And Diarrhea, Had Taken Aleve For 5 Days. Could This Cause Irritation In Intestine?

I have been taking one Aleve per day for about 5 days, and have just had a large salad and got severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. I will stop Aleve, but it was working. Too bad. Was it the salad or the Aleve? I had c difficult one year ago, and am afraid to irritate my intestines. I will call my gastroenterologist in the morning, but thought I would try the internet tonight.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Cramps associated with diarrhoea could be due to gastroenteritis. In simple words this diarrhoea is due to infection/ food poisoning. Take adequate fluid, avoid spicy food, take probiotics and if possible start a course of antibiotic.
Hope this helped.
Take care
