Recurrent Lower Back Soft Tissue Injury, Have Only Taken To Physiotherapy. Will This Be Fine ?

From a previous accident of being hit by a car when a pedestrian. On the side I was hit the duffle bag I was carrying had clothes and sleeping bag in it thus I did not get fractured pelvis. However more lower back soft tissue injury which I have succumbed to several times in the past going back 25 years. Several times being hit by a car on my mountain bike with the one pedestrian knock down. Chiropractors were utilized some in the 1980's. But I found them being to rapid with no tissue preparation before commencing with a rather hostile correction. I dont think they took my injuries all that serious so I evolved to physiotherapy. Much better with the warm up before treatmants that were more than a 2 minute correction. I found them more patient and better yet as I began to be more intent on umderstanding my soft tissue injuries and realizing what posture changes I needed to make in my daily activities as I work underwater as a commercial diver. And also in very confined spaces I am being used to go inside and clean the processing vesseles on the various platforms offshore. What the hydro carbons go through in the initial stages of processing after coming out of the earth. Very confined space in serious hazmat gear with supplied breathing air through Scott Packs. Very neccesary as using high pressure super heated water guns to clean the vessels. You dont want that oily steam in your lungs with the contaminations that go with it. My life has been very physical and I have to move with the correct understanding of how to do so without aggravating my injuries. Then last sunday as I was spending it on landscaping procedures before cutting the lawn and then bucking up the firewood on the saw horse. I always go down with both knees bent and back verticle straight when picking up tools and stuff. Six hours I worked hard at getting the list checked off and before I picked up the bucked fire wood for storage, I went to move a rather large piece of metal. Close to 100 pounds. I knew my posture was not quite correct as I was on unlevel surface due to unsatable materials on the ground. Yet I made the move and instantly. My injury compounded by more than I have ever felt. I could barely walk. Struggled to get to my deck and brush the sawdust off my sweat. Then I went and hung upside down for a bit which did help moderatly. But waking on Monday nearly killed me to get out of bed. I bought a tensor for the lower back and did physio 2 days straight but the morning is still hell. Untill I get the Robaxisal C and 2 pain killers I have a hard time moving. I am very concerned this time as I have never had that morning pain before. Not untill I get out of bed and gravity starts to do its compression. But this time the pain is as soon as I wake and its dificult getting to sit then stand up. Pulling on socks is hell. It subsides a bit during the day but that is probably with the medication. And just the ability to move around with as much coution as I need. That does help for keeping loose yet every move I make, I have to choreograph every move to mitagate any aggravation. From experiance I know that mostly any relief will come from how I conduct my posture. But my question is. I have Apo-Meloxicam and Apo-Naproxen-Na DS. With the Robaxasil C to add to the list. Which would you recomend for the injury? For the early stages of recovery in the severe soft tissue injury on the lower Lombar region. I reverse the effects of gravity when ever I can. And I am always moving my body to not cramp in one spot for to long. Riding my bike and and lots of crunchies has helped before. I hope this time I can smooth it out again and if so. I sure will be that much more intent on the correct posture for anything that I do.
Thank you. AAAAA

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

As you are able to do extensive physical work you appear to be in good form. However I would suggest that you consult an orthopedic doctor to get a clinical examination and, if required, a MRI to know the extent of any injury. It is only then you should undertake physiotherapy so that you are in a better physical form.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing you all the best.
