Hello
Thanks for your query.
There are various causes of miscarriage like genetic causes, uterine abnormalities, incompetent cervix, autoimmune causes, infections etc.
For unexplained miscarriage and for immune causes - aspirin ( loprin ) is often prescribed.
Progesterone is given for pregnancy support, and folic acid is a routine supplement.
Your obstetrician might have found some sound reason in your examination or history to prescribe the medication.
Heart and blood disorders are not the only reason for its prescription
Take care and follow medical advice, and all the best with this pregnancy.

Hello, welcome to HCM, I am Dr. Das

Look, a miscarriage, may occur due to some problems like genetic abnormality of fetus, genetic abnormality of mother, spontaneous miscarriage without any particular reason, any hypercoagulability of blood, and many more.

Now, there is a basic problem. It would be better to investigate you thoroughly for presence of any particular disease condition.

But, your treating doctor has given a generalized treatment. Because, the progesterone prevents spontaneous miscarriage, folic acid enhances cell division, and loprin prevents hypercoagulability of blood.

I think, as you were not investigated properly, it is better to go with your treating doctor. You have no other choices.

Regards.

Hi thanks for your question.
The medicine prescribed to you by your doctor are necessar for you to prevent abortion.First trimester abortion usually takes place due to progestrone deficiency, for which progestrone supplements are given during pregnancy.Folic acid deficiency is also thought to be responsible for first trimester misscarriage,so folic acid supplements are given.Loprin is low molecular weight aspirin, which is also used to prevent recurrent abortion.I would suggest you to continue with medicine prescribed to you by your doctor.
Hope this answers your question.
