Pain In Feet, Shoulders, Knee. History Of Torn Ligaments, Fractured Fibula, Neck 40 Years Back. Any Connections?

Am interested in the effects of old injuries many years later. I was in ac car accident in 3rd world country40+year ago. I went through the windscreen of a VW beetle in a freak accident. both ankles torn ligaments, ,R knee bruised and I discovered many years later fractured fibula, whiplash. Now in my late sixties feet ,and shoulders a problem and this week very painful R knee. Am wondering if I imagined that these could be related to the accident. They sewed up the lacerations to my neck( I was very lucky) but otherwise no treatment at the time. Would be interested in what you think. Many thanks.Carol

Hi,
It's difficult to be sure whether there is a connection between your old injuries and your currents aches and pains. Certainly, you suffered quite serious injuries that could result in chronic problems. However, as you get older, arthritis becomes more common and at your age it would not be unusual to suffer some arthritic aches in your joints.
Therefore, I cannot be specific in saying your current condition is related but it may be. If the pains are affecting your mobility, you could try simple pain-killers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen. Also, regular stretching exercises may be of help.
I hope this answer has been of assistance to you.
