On Glucophase Metphormin To Control Blood Glucose. Get Acidic, Feeling Sleepy. Use Diamicron, Losacar. Suggestions?
I am using Glucophase metphormin 850mg tablet to control blood glucose level. I get acidic the whole day and feeling sleepy most of the time. why and how can i get out of these problems. Once i was recommended happi tablet to be used for acidic feeling and I felt Ok. How long could I use. how many per day. please advise me. I also use diamicron 80mg. and losacar 50mg for hipertension.

Metformin can have gastrointestinal side effects and may be contributing to the acid feeling that you are experiencing.
GERD (gastroesophageal reflux- the acid sensation) can occur in other persons as well who are not using this particular medication.
It can be treated with the medication that you mentioned, happi which is the trade name for rabeprazole.
In addition to this medication, lifestyle changes may also have a positive effect.
This would include (1) using small meals,
(2)reducing the use of foods such as chocolate, mints, citrus foods, spicy/fried foods, tomatoes
(3) weight loss if there is any excess weight
