Missed Birth Control Patch. Now Spotting Seen. Haven't Had A Period For One Year. Implantation Bleeding?
I missed 2 days of the birth control patch,on the 2 nd day I put it on late evening n later that day had sex wih my bf,and now it's been 16 days since then n I started spotting lightly yesterday,could it be implantation bleeding? On the patch free week which is te 4th week I still put the patch n I nvr hve the patch free week so I haven't had a period in almost a year n now the spotting after missing two days of replacing the patch
Hi, Thanks for the query. As you didn't have withdrawal bleeding, it is difficult to differentiate the period of menstrual cycle. But the possibility of pregnancy is some what less, as usually ovulation won't occur during the first two days of the cycle. The spotting you are having could be withdrawal bleeding due to delay in putting the patch or breakthrough bleeding as side effect of the patch. This type of spotting will usually subside soon. If persists, consult gynecologist once and take tablets to control it. If you do not get withdrawal bleeding, after removal of the pack, go for pregnancy test once. Depending on the result further management can be planned. Take care.
