MRI Showed Nonhemorrhage Ischemic Infarcts Of Cerebral Hemisphere. Recovered From Stroke, Loss Of Memory. What Does MRI Mean?

My father had an MRI tonight and I was told that it showed multiple small subcentimeter nonhemorrhage ischemic infarcts of the bilateral cerebral hemispheres
He moved in with me 3 months ago recovering from a Stroke and a few days before he was admitted into the hospital he started getting seriously confused and was having major problems with his short term memory.
So what does the diagnosis mean - am I correct in saying that this means he had another "Stroke"?
What if anything can be done to correct the issue?

No this is not for sure stroke, this is senile condition of brain, this type of scanning picture is fairly common in geriatric age group, even if they do not have history of any brain stroke, your father had a stroke, and right now he has brain related symptoms which could be a sequelae of previous brain lesion and not because of the ischemic lesions found in MRI, keep his blood pressure well in control, regular medical follow up is necessary, Have good Day.
