Lump In The Neck Above The Hairline. Have Pain And Discharge. What Is It?
Hi I just noticed a small hard maybe about marble sized lump in the back of my neck towards the right side above my hairline and ive been poking at it and now its kinda sore I just got my lip pierced about a week ago I dont know if that could have caused the lump in the back of my head but my lip is in its heeling process but has been draining a lot of lymph fluid I noticed? Please help.
Hi,
Welcome back to Heathcare Magic Physician's Desk!
It can be an enlarged lymph node due to inflammation at the lip pierced site.
In that case it will subside when the lip wound heals.
But more likely it is a furuncle- a boil filled with pus.
In both the cases you need a course of antibiotics like Augmentin for 5days and local drainage of the boil if it is there in supervision of a local physician.
Wish you a great health!
