General & Family Physician, Dr. Namitha's Response
Hi Uma,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum. In my opinion you must seek advise from a rhuematologist for best treatment of this problem.I would advise you not to delay your treatment as this will worsen the condition. This condition is not completely curable but you can control the pain and prevent damage to your joints. There is no specific food for this, but there are few tips which may be helpful for you. If you are overweight please lose weight, involve yourself in some form of exercise.Swimming is good but avoid situations where you need to strain your joints. Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, lean meat and low fat diary products. Your doctor will also advise you on some medications to ease pain and movement of your affected joints.Take care and seek medical care.
