Is It Possible To Find Elevated Hcg In Early Stages Of Pregnancy?

I believe I am early in pregnancy. Went for blood test two weeks ago with positive test. Hcg level 1485. Two days ago went and saw gestational sac no yolk or fetal pole. Possibly too early or blight ovum. Hcg level two days ago 62,800 and a second test today. Is it possible to be four -6 weeks with elevated hcg that high? The numbers and dates don't seem to add up. I imagine at most im am five weeks only. Have you ever seen elevated hcg in early stages? Is there hope for growth in two days since my last ultrasound, or should I wait a week to see?

Hello
Thanks for your health concern.
At 4 - 6 weeks pregnancy, the HCG can go as high as 50 - 60000.
However, that would definitely be accompanied by a fetal pole at 6 weeks in a viable pregnancy.
Was the scan done vaginally ?
Abdominal scans have poor resolution
SO ensure that scan is done vaginally.
Also, it could indicate a blighted ovum or a vesicular mole, where the chorionic tissue proliferates to form a kind of benign tumour .
In twin pregnancies too, such high levels are seen.
What you can do is wait for a week , and then have a repeat scan.
There is no point repeating in just two days.
Do not stress out meanwhile, continue taking folic acid.
All the best.
