Is It Advised To Have Obimet SR During Pregnancy ?

I was asked to take Obimet 500mg just before concieving by my doctor . (I was not identified with PCOS) Now I am almost 4 months pregnant and I am asked to continue with Obimet SR tablets 500 mg.I would like to know why am I asked to take these tablets in pregnancy and if there is any side effects for my child or for me if I take these tablets in pregnancy? Please do help me...

Obimet SR tabs are usually given for diabetes/obesity/PCOS.It can be safely given in pregnancy if you are diabetic;you may ask your gynaec why tis has been prescribed.
