Is Cramping With Pain And Thick Discharges Normal After Taking Pills?

I am in my first month of starting birth control back up, I have been on it before with no problems. My period was about 5 days late after I stopped the pill however I was having slight cramping. When I started bleeding the pain was more than usual and I found pieces of gray tissue that was think and felt like chicken skin. I have not been bleeding more than normal and feel much better since the tissue has passed. I don't think I was pregnant as I was on the pill.

Hello,

Birth control pills reduce period pain, some people report cramping as a side effect. Cramping caused by oral contraceptives is usually temporary. If you were on regular birth control pills and did not miss or forget to take the pills, you shouldn't be pregnant. In case you were careless in taking the pills and had unprotected intercourse then you are at risk of getting pregnant.

Bleeding with cramping pain and tissue discharge can be an early symptom of miscarriage. Get a gynecologist consultation, get blood tests and investigations done to detect signs of miscarriage. Cramping can be caused by medical conditions like polyp, fibroid, endometriosis. You will be accordingly treated. Take homemade food rich in iron and calcium.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
