The brand of sunscreen and the SPF in it matters. If it is not giving good results, avoid sun exposure to the forehead, cover with a soft cotton cloth to avoid direct sunlight in that place.

Apply some sandal wood paste mixed with rosewater. Apply for 20minutes and then rinse. use this 2 dayas a week. This will help to remove the tan

use sun protection cream. SPF more than 15 will help you. apply 1/2 before going outside. it does not have any side effects. even i use to have same problems, but later i used this SPF the tanning is reduced.

use tan remover cream, it will help, tanning is the cause of excessive sun exposure, avoid it and use sunscreen lotion
