How Long Will It Take To Cure A Black Eye And Swollen Cheekbone That Was Punched Repeatedly ?

I was punched repeatedly a week ago on my cheek. My cheekbone has a hard swollen knot and hurts bad in the center and is numb around it. I have a black eye and the whole side of my face bruised. The spot on my cheekbone just now started to bruise. I had X-ray immediately after incident but dr said it wasn't broke. Dr also said have it checked in week if still a problem. I can't think and I still have trouble focusing my eye. Could it be serious or is it normal?

Greetings of the day

You have developed traumatic hematoma, it will usually take 1-2weeks for complete resolution. Residual oedema may still be there.
There is no cause for concern.
Focusing problem could be due to eyelid oedema.
In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life

Take Care
