hello there ,

Swelling in the gums is the sign of inflammation . Inflammation of the gums is called as GINGIVITIS .

It is caused due poor oral hygiene , accumulation of bacterial plaque and calculus deep in the gum pockets and root surfaces of the teeth.

swelling of the gums is also caused by gingival abscess or tooth related periodontal abscess.

this can be confirmed by clinical examination so please visit a dentist and get the evaluation done.

thorough deep scaling and root planing this will help in resolving your problem followed by a course of antibiotic and analgesics.

i hope this helps ,

take care.

Hello and welcome to HCM forum,

swollen gums are due to gingivitis.

Such gum infection usually occurs due to-

Poor oral hygiene maintenance.
Periodontal abscess developed due to pocket and subgingival plaque accumulated.
Deep dental caries causing periapical infection.
Traumatic injury.
pericoronitis.
I would suggest you to get a thorough scaling done.
Abscess if present has to be drained through access opening.
Infected pulp has to be removed.
Root canal treatment/extraction of tooth has to be done if required,

Maintain good oral hygiene.
Take care

your gum problem is due to infection in gums.

This is called periodontitis.

It appears you have deep pockets resulting in gum infection and pain. The gum problem is also caused by gingival abscess or tooth related periodontal abscess.

this can be confirmed by clinical examination ,so i would suggest you to visit your dentist and get the evaluation done.

Deep scaling and root planing is required in this case. A course of antibiotic and analgesics might help in this case.

hope it helps.
