Have Dry Eyes. Will Taking Bilberry 4000 Mg Help In Anyway ?

I just met a woman at Wal-Mart in the pharmacy department, where I was looking for Vitamin E which I use for my skin, and she was picking up 1000 mg. of Bilberry which she said she takes 2000 mg. every morning and 2000 mg. every evening and it helped her eyes. I bought it because I have dry eyes and had an infection in my eyes about 6 months ago that I took many antibiotics for and could not cure. I cured this infection by keeping tea bags upon my eyes which I had rubbed with a very minute amount of Vitamin E. My husband told me that I needed more information than word of mouth to ingest 4000 mg of Bilberry a day. What's your advice?

Hi, Bilberry contains flavinoids which acts as antioxidants. It helps in patients with age related macular degeneration. There are no studies where it has shown to help in dry eye syndrome. But omega 3 fatty acids definitely help in patients with dry eye syndrome when taken for 3-4 months....TC..
