Had Sleeve Gastrectomy. Have Lack Of Balance. Taking B12. Balance Issue Caused By B12 Deficiency?

I had a sleeve gastrectomy last July and I have been taking B12 sublingually since that time on doctor's instructions. Over the last few days I have had a distinct lack of balance, I attributed to a huge change in altitude as I have gone from British columbia in Canada to the desert in southern California. Could this balance issue be caused by not having enough B12 in my system?

Hello dear,

The sensation of lack of balance can be attributed to Vit B12 deficiency which acts as a Nervigenic agent.
Symptomatic relief can be obtained with intake of Vit B12.

If symptoms still persist, then you need to consult an ENT specialist for proper clinical examination including Vestibular function test.
As the symptom can also be due to any pathology in the Vestibular apparatus present in inner ear, which maintains posture & body balance.

Take care.
