Hello and welcome to health care magic,

I am Dr Sriram Nathan an ENT surgeon and i shall try to help you out with your problem.

You are right in assuming and asking why anti biotic was not given after your surgery as in most of the centres it is routinely given and i have never sent a surgery patient without that.

However the protocol differs from hospital to hospital and you thus need to ask your doctor whether it was a lapse or intentional.

It will take anywhere between three weeks to three months for the ear to become dry and you need to be patient till then.

If you have any more specific doubts you can alsways get back to me

regards

Dr Sriram Nathan
