Diagnosed With Staff Infection Impatigo

I work in a Early Childhood room for a school. The head teacher was just diagnost with MRSA . I have what appears to be a small red dots on my wrist and the right side of my face. Also a patchy red area the size of a quarter has just shown up about an inch away from the red spot on my wrist. One of the kids was diagnost with a staff Infection impatigo. Would my rash be a concern? Chris @ YYYY@YYYY

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

You may be having impetigo most probably. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would also recommend you to get investigated for diabetes mellitus. Take a course of antibiotic like cefixime along with anti-inflammatory drugs under the observation of a doctor. Also, improve hygiene and immunity to prevent the relapse of the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
