Child have fever and headache after tooth operation. No medication was prescribed. What to do now?

Hi, my 10 yr old son had a tooth pulled 2 days ago. It was loose, but painful and the dentist said it was infected. He has had a fever and bad headache since yesterday. He was not prescribed any antibiotics after the tooth was pulled. Should I take him in to the Dr? Could this be related to the tooth and not a flu?
