Child Has Diarrhea, But Taking Food, Drinking Lots Of Water. Now Has Hard, Stringy Nose Hard To Do Suction. Treatment?

My 3 yr old has had diareah for more than 8 days but drinking and eating with lots of wet diapers.fo 5 days she has had this hard and stringy mucus from nose which is hard to pull out from suction. She acts in pain so I give Tylenol and seems to be relieved when I push along the side of nose. Have hot humidifier and bed inclined and no fever. Does this warrent a doctor visit?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

I am more worried for the diarrhoea than the mucus in your daughter's nostrils. As the diarrhoea has ben persisting for more than 8 days your daughter needs to be evaluated and her stool examined. You should get her examined by your doctor.

You mentioned that your daughter "acts in pain". However you have failed to mention where the pain is?

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.
