Can Food Poisoning Cause Problems In The Baby During Pregnancy?

Yesterday for lunch I eaten a expired egg but I cook using sunny side up method but the yolk was medium cook ,12 hours later I started to have diarrhea and vomitting followed by abdominal aches pain ,I saw my gynea the same day she gave a shot to stop my vomitting and ask me to drinks lots of water after that I was fine ..is this a case of samollena and will it hurt my unborn child ? I m 37 weeks pregnant by the way

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion it might be a simple gastrointestinal
infection.The causative organism can be known by stool examination.Dont worry it doesn't harm your baby.Only the dehydration might cause the problems .So Just take adequate fluids upto2 to 3 litres to prevent dehydration.
