Suggest Treatment For Diarrhoea After Taking Pills For Chlamydia And Gonorrhoea

I thought I had a yeast infection, so I took Moinstat 7. After the 7 days, I am still buring while I urinate and now I have a yellowish discharge that has a mild odor. I went to the OBGYN and the doc told me that he believed that my symptoms are just a effect from using the cream. Yesterday, just to be on the safe side, I took 4 pills for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Today, I am experiencing some diarrhea. Please help me! Age: 24, 5 5 1/2 and first time yeast infection

Hi,

The diarrhea you are experiencing may be a side effect of the antibiotics you took for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Antibiotics can disrupt the normal balance of bacteria in your gut, leading to diarrhea. However, it is important to note that diarrhea can also be a symptom of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as gonorrhea and chlamydia.

It is best to consult with your doctor to discuss your symptoms and to determine the appropriate treatment. Your doctor may recommend probiotics or other measures to help alleviate your diarrhea symptoms. Additionally, they may want to re-test you for gonorrhea and chlamydia to ensure that the infection has been properly treated.

In the future, it is important to follow your doctor's instructions for medication use and to communicate any concerns or questions you have about potential side effects. It is also important to practice safe sex to reduce the risk of STIs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
