Is It Possible To Be Diagnosed With Chlamydia And Gonorrhea While In A Monogamous Relationship?

I was tested positive for chlamydia. My boyfriend previously had chlamydia and gonorrhea prior to being in a relationship with me and had got it treated. He had sexual partners after this - again before me - but had no symptoms of chlamydia or gonorrhoea at all. How could this have happened. I have only ever slept with one person prior to him and condoms were used.

Hi,

It is very simple. It could be due to, either your partner not being treated adequately or he could have been infected freshly through his new contacts. Chlamydial infection can remain without much symptoms where as gonorrhea is very rare to remain without symptoms. It is better to get treated both simultaneously. Get well soon.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
