What Are The Side Effects Of Pulmonary Tuberculosis Treatment?

Helo Doctor. I am 54 years old, 1.75 tall and weight 80 Kg. I had bleeding in the right lung that the doctors diagnosed to be a pulmonary tuberculosis. I am taking 4 tablets of Forecox every morning. Since a few days ago I have had great dificulty sleeping, diarrhea, urge to urinate many times during the night, leg pain during sleep and some weight loss. Are these normal effects of the drugs? Will persist for all time to take these drugs (months)? Thanks for your kindness.

Hi,

Yes, there are many side effects of anti TB drugs. You should keep getting your liver function tests done on monthly basis and continue the follow up with your physician. If these symptoms worsen with time inform your GP immediately.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
