Hi, I am a sinusitis "expert" as I have had ethmoid and sigmoid both removed, frontal sinus drain widened and one turbinate removed. I battle with MRSA on a regular basis, but now I have E. coli in the maxilary sinus on the right side(fortunately there isn't anything else as I just came off of bactrum and clyndomican for MRSA). I was taking heavy dose amoxicillian, but without much improvement. The culture sent in showed that the pill form would not work, but the recommendation of an infectious disease specialist was to continue taking this med. I hit day six and was getting worse on it, so what is the best medication to take for dealing with this? The only one that I have found online that has great reviews also has bad side effects of hearing damage. Others that I have found were zosyn and bioxin, but that is just from others that have had this problem.
