80 Years Old. Sleep For 10 To 12 Hours A Day. Energetic. Normal?

I am 80 years old. My wife is concerned that I stay in bed 10 to 12 hrs a day. I think I sleep about 8 hrs. I awake several times a night to adjust my sleep apnea mask. If I stay in bed less time I don't feel good and feel like I am going to fall asleep all day long. If I stay in bed the 10 to 12 hrs I don't take naps and have energy all day.

Dear Micrin
From what u are saying i am thinking that you are currently using PAP machine for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. If so your sleep pattern has some problems as it lost its continuity. So you may need a fresh PAP Titration study as soon as possible kindly consult your sleep medicine specialist if you continue to wake up in the night to adjust mask and sleep more in the morning.
thank you
