Suggest Medication For Pharyngitis

I started using a CPAP machine several months ago. Shorty after I developed a cough and excessive phlegm, diagnosed with pharyngitis and treated with antiobiotics, took 3 weeks to go away. During this time, I did not use the CPAP. When I started the machine again (after cleaning it thoroughly per instructions), the same symptoms returned. What s happening?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Clean the machine properly.

Use salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Antibiotics like amoxiclav will be useful.

Along with that Azithromycin will be useful. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
